Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is one of the largest non-profit organizations in the world, with activities in over 70 countries. We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. We are there for the most vulnerable; we stand up for all people's right to life-saving care and treatment.
Médecins Sans Frontières in Sweden
Läkare Utan Gränser / Médecins Sans Frontières' offices are situated in Liljeholmen in Stockhom. We are around one hundred employees with different backgrounds and competencies.
Our decision to offer assistance is based on our evaluation of medical needs, independent of political, economic or religious interests. Our independence is rooted in our funding from individual private donors;
We do not take sides in armed conflicts nor support the agendas of warring parties.
We offer assistance to people based on need. It doesn’t matter which country they are from, which religion they belong to, or what their political affiliations are. We give priority to those in the most serious and immediate danger.
Neutrality is not synonymous with silence. Our proximity to people in distress implies a duty to raise awareness on their plight to ultimately help improve their situation.
Our work is done in the name of universal medical ethics and the right to humanitarian assistance and claims full and unhindered freedom in the exercise of its functions.
Transparent and accountable
We take responsibility of accounting for our actions to our patients and donors, and being transparent on the choices we make.
We strive to create a strong, including and positive working culture, both for our international and local office staff. We work in teams and always strive to develop ourselves. Developing ourselves means we have to trust each other and can both give and take feedback. We work in an international, informal and welcoming environment. At MSF, you should always feel respected, no matter who you are.
