MSF Sweden Innovation Unit: Junior Graphic Designer and Digital Communication Consultant
MSF SIU are looking for a junior graphic designer with digital communication knowledge to join the team in accelerating humanitarian health innovation and improving access to quality healthcare.
- Location: Flexible (time zone CET +2/-2)
- Duration: Part-time 60%, 3-months contract, with potential for extension
- Potential start date: 1 February 2026
- Reports to: Head of MSF Sweden Innovation Unit
Background
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from healthcare. These programmes are run through five operational directorates (ODs). The Inclusive Innovation Partnership (made up of The Manson Unit in MSF UK and the Sweden Innovation Unit (SIU) in MSF Sweden) supports MSF work in-country through innovation and research projects with the aim to improve the quality in MSF operations. The Inclusive Innovation Partnership supports MSF staff to explore, develop and test innovative new approaches to challenges in our projects, to ultimately give people better access to medical care.
Role overview
The MSF SIU is looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to develop and deliver visual design and communication material supporting the MSF SIU operations and Inclusive Innovation projects. Key responsibilities and deliverables associated with this role include:
Graphic design
- Develop and maintain new and existing branded materials that align with the brand guidelines for MSF SIU, the MSF Inclusive Innovation partnership, and the broader international MSF movement.
- Design and layout reports, presentations, funding proposals, workshop materials, and other related documents.
- Create and design therapeutic education materials tailored to specific contexts.
- Develop process and resource templates for knowledge and tool repository.
- Conceptualise and visualise data, processes, and models.
- Manage and maintain the SharePoint site.
Communication
- Write and publish blog posts for the website and LinkedIn updates aligned with MSF movement communication guidelines.
- Plan and document communication efforts together with the communication working group.
Profile overview
Essential
- Relevant educational background in graphic design, visual communications, media, or similar field.
- Demonstrated experience working or volunteering in graphic design and/or communications.
- Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Experience working in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Demonstrated expertise in applying design principles that align with brand guidelines.
- Ability to incorporate and take on feedback and insights from all levels of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Fluency in English, written and spoken.
Valuable
- Fluency in French and/or other languages.
- A good understanding and knowledge of UX / UI design.
- Experience working in public health, NGO and/or the social sector.
